I started out with the Landpride 6' and would put about 400 hours on them, sell and buy a new one. That was when I was only putting around 150 hours a year on them. I thought they were a decent cutter and definitely got my monies worth at around $1600 for a new one. The Bush Hog 3008 is right around $6500...a lot of money for the extra 2', but I have had this one for 6 years now and probably have 1500 hours on it with no problems. I have another I bought two years ago that I use on another tractor...bought it when I was told they were discontinuing the 3008. Last year I ran over 350 hours on this one, only expense was fuel and $145 for a set of blades. Try that with a flail!
