A few days ago I asked about getting a Farmall B started. Well I checked gas flow again as was suggested and it seems to flow good. (I pulled the plug out of the bottom of the carb). The tractor starts right up , but almost instantly kills. Someone suggested that I may need to set the flow. How do I adjust it? Any other suggestions?
Original message: I am sure this has been discussed before, but when I look in the archives I must not be putting in the correct request. Well I have a Farmall B that has sat for several years and am trying to get it going. I have good spark, and good flow of gas to the carb. I cleaned the carb and installed a new needle and seat. Also new gasket. Have checked and rechecked to make sure all passages are clean. The tractor will fire on ether and if it sits for a time it will fire on gas, but runs out of gas. What am I missing here? What should the idle mix screw be set at when first attempting to start? Any help would be appreciated.
