Adding to what JD Seller says below my dad traded in a nice 730 diesel for a new at the time 3020 gas. It was before my time so I can only tell you what my dad said about them. It was the worst mistake he ever made. They were a deadheaded gutless wonder that wouldn't pull the hat off your head. His exact words. He bought it to feed with in the winter. It wouldn't start well in the summer forget starting in winter. If you got it started you grab the throttle and pull it wide open. Then go in the house and have a cup of coffee. By the time you were done it might have enough R's built up to do something. If you hook anything up to it the tractor would just fall flat on its nose and kill the engine. The dealership was out several times adjusting and fiddling with it but never got it to run right. There was 4 others bought in the area at the same time. The others financed there's through JD and were just as useless so they stopped paying on them and just let JD repossess them. My dad paid for his so he was stuck with it for a couple years. He hated every minute of it. Now the JD 2510 I'm going to disagree with JD Seller on. I have 2 gas 2510's. They are excellent tractors. They start well, have good power, and are reliable. I don't think I would recommend one for the original poster though. They are getting a little long in the tooth now. Parts are starting to get harder to find. I just bought the second 2510 recently and am realizing what it's going to take to get it fixed up running in what I consider good condition. I would have been better money ahead to get something quite a bit newer that wouldn't need any work.
