Always trouble shoot then parts NEVER parts then trouble shoot. #1 check that you have a good blue/white spark at the center wire of the distributor cap and at all 4 plug wires that will jump a 1/4 inch gap or more. If you have that go to #2 if you do not have that check that the points are gaped as they should be and that when you open the points by hand with the ignition on you get a good spark that you can both see and hear. #2 pull the carb drain plug and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas that will fill a pint jar in under 3 minutes. And yes catch the gas to look for dirt/water etc. #3 does choking it hurt or help?? If it hurts then your running to rich if it helps your running to lean. If running rich try running it with out the air cleaner hooked up. If that helps the air cleaner is clogged. If it does not help try putting your hand over the air intake while it is running and do your best not to let it die when you do that. Doing that may pull what ever maybe clogging the carb out and clear it up
