Hey everyone! Thanks for this site! Hopefully you can help me out. Bought a 1981 ford 4100, 3cyl, diesel. The lift arms wont go down. not only that but once i do release the pressure from the system, they simply go aaaaaallllllll the way up, without touching any of the control levers. So far I've taken off the top plate and checked out the valves on the lift cylinder and all the linkage. the valves were sticking a bit and after polishing up both the valves and the seats, they move far more freely. however the problem still exists. Ive read that it may be a problem with the selector valve, however I don't have a selector valve, in it's place there is a simple check valve. I can't really see there being a probelm with it, the spring and ball all move freely in the cage. I'm at a loss. I invested afair bit into this little tractor and I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet. ANY Help at all would be appreciated.

But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out. After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
