Quoting Removed, click Modern View to see
In this particular instance (and what has been on here lately that I've seen) is that they advertise to click on a link to see such-and-such sports event. Often they'll use the word "Live", as if it's happening as they type.
I have never clicked on those, as I'm NOT a sports nut!! And for a long time, I simply thought they must be getting some sort of kickbacks from sending people to the links. As I've grown older and wiser, I've come to better understand that these folks may in fact be showing the games (or whatever) that they are advertising. ...But maybe they don't - I haven't a clue. Anyway, as mentioned before, they can gain access to your computer WITHOUT YOU KNOWING IT OR AGREEING, as simply clicking on their link is agreement enough. From there, they can gain some amount of access to your PC (depending on your security settings and additional software), load malware programs to disable or hack your computer, or simply browse through looking for specific information. My guess is there probably are actual games on the links, as the longer you're on their site (on THEIR COMPUTER!!), the longer you give them access to YOUR computer! If they wish, they may choose to "save you" for another time, like saving dessert, and instead use your computer to gain access to other computers who know and trust you; like friends and family. If you have higher access or trust on someone else's system, then they can use that to their advantage to hack into computers that likely wouldn't click on their spammed links. So even if you click on a link and even if you watch a game, and even if nothing happens to you that you're ever aware of, you still may be unknowingly giving them easier access to your friends and loved ones....and banks, and job, and any place else that trusts you (your computer).
In short, just don't click on the links.
When this idjit was on, he had made 28 posts, the last of which was about an hour before I was on. Then he came back and posted one more, just to tick me off. I know it was a person and not a program, as it was in some threads, but not others. It was in the most likely threads to be seen. He(?) even had the gall to post TWO links in the Site Comments section. And if that's not bad enough, even spammed in the Memorials and Remembrance section!! That is SSOOOOO not cool!! Shows that they not only have no respect for us, but also have no respect for our friends who have passed!!

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
