I went there when in college too, 67-72. Scots went out of business some time in the late 70's. They made some awesome hamburger buns their bakery.
The first Kroger store was built on the north side of town about the same time Scot went out of business.
A stock broker told me Kroger is the largest grocery store. They own many small chain stores. They keep their name. Many stores have the reward card, like Kroger. I can use my reward card at Shell to get up to a dollar off a gallon, up to 35 gallons.
