Clutch Linkage messed up?

I have purchased a JD 1010 backhoe loader. The owner told me the clutch was shot. But when I started playing with it I'm not sure. There is no free play left. The adjustment is all the way to most free play. The clutch pedal comes up and the clutch just starts to grab when the pedal hits the stop. it's like it can't come up enough. I played with the adjustment and it is all the way. Is the linkage bent or something or is the disc jut worn so thin there is no adjustment left. I'd hate to break this tractor in half if I don't have to. Thanks for any help.
