Here is the thing that gets me. A birth certificate is nothing more than a piece of paper with some printing, a seal, and a few signatures on it. There is nothing on it that connects it directly to me. Not one single piece of proof that it is actually MY birth certificate. It only proves that somebody was born and named by the name you are using. It would be easy to forge since it does not contain one single piece of evidence connecting it to the person holding it. A 17 year old teenager could go to the county clerk's office, and get anybody's birth certificate and use it to buy tobacco or liquor.
Now, if it had contained a footprint, fingerprint, or other positive ID to connect it to a person, I would have more faith in it as a form of ID.
