I once saw 113 on the pickup thermometer in the wheat stubble west of Garden City Kansas. When I was driving down the road it cooled down to 110. By MIdland SD it was 115 in the stubble but the thermometer cooled to 111 when driving. But it was a dry heat. Dry heat is still HOT, open the oven door hot!
Here in Iowa we had a couple of days last week that reached 100 with humidity in the 80 range for a couple days. In my neighborhood the crops are looking amazingly good.
