Started cutting hay Thursday afternoons it's Oliver 88, got 1.5 rounds and awful noise and PTO stopped. Got PTO disengaged and noise didn't stop. No hydraulics either. Pretty well had it diagnosed at that point but I pulled the PTO housing off anyway and could turn the PTO clutch by hand. Must had wore the splines off or brok shaft. Went to borrow a tractor from a friend but by the time I got hooked up was too late and dew was coming on. Finished mowing Friday at my house and friend that I borrowed tractor from. Raked Sunday starting about noon, raked at friends house. Baked mine up no problems and went to friends to bale there. Must have picked something up in right front tire when raking there because it was sitting on the rim. Went and got his portable air compressor in yard cart behind mower. Half way to tractor sounded like a hose burst but come to find the drain valve broke off. By this time it's 6:30 and farm store was closed and only big chain auto parts stores open. First one looked at my like I had two heads when I asked for 1/4" quarter turn valve. Second one couldn't get anyone to help me but found a 1/4" radiator drain valve. Back to air compressor, new valve in and fill tire. Hook baler and hay rack thinking hay had picked up too much moisture. Made 5 bales and pulled back to barn. We'll finish tomorrow.

Amana Colonies served as a respite where we ate a family style lunch that sustained us with more food than could reasonably fit into our ample physiques. The show at Ankeny
