Got up to the woods about 10:00 this morning and proceeded to drag out some more firewood. Stopped for my lunch break, and while setting on a log eating my lunch this colorful guy dropped down from the canopy for a chat. He told me that he liked Case orange better than Kubota orange, but most of his lady friends looked a bit faded out like my Kubota B2150. About 2:00 I decided to head for home. The still and humid air in the woods changed, and gusty erratic winds with the sound of ever closer thunder was moving in. The leaves on the trees were starting to flip and show their undersides, and the sun was gone. I made the mile plus trek from where I was working in the wood back home without getting wet. 15min later we got a 5min downpour and it cleared. Oh well, I skidded out another cord and a half of wood to the landing. The hauls are getting a little longer. May have to establish another landing along the access road tomorrow. Loren

But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
