Well, IH never had a white M, and as mentioned the white tractors were 1950 Demos, and none of those were Ms. Now, IH would paint any tractor, any color as long as enough of them were ordered to justify changing the line. Dealers would often times paint them as well, to freshen them up for resale. Some say its primer, but IH didn't use primer, or if they did, theres no pictures that I have ever seen of it. I have consecutive number M, both 41s. One had the white, the other didn't. There were the only 2 Ms that I have actually stripped down to paint, but I have seen exactly what youre talking about before, so who knows for sure.
