The Mystik products are indeed top quality. As far as the Mystik diesel oil goes it was my father's oil of choice.
Mystik oil used to just slightly cheaper than other top brand diesel oils...anymore it costs the same or maybe slightly more than Say Rotella or Delo or even John Deere Torque-gard.
I did indeed quit using Mystik products when it dawned on me it was no longer locally produced...and it's ownership turned me off. I just had idealistic problems putting dollars into Hugo Chavez's regime(that was then...I still feel the same!).
The reality of it is that who knows where whatever brand oil comes from. I have seen pallets of JD motor oil delivered to the dealership when I worked there...with Texaco labels on the shrink wrap. It's possible the engine oil I'm using now may have it's origins with Citgo(I don't think it does)...I actually used a couple tubes of Mystik red grease not too long back and didn't die or my machines didn't disintegrate. However I felt like a traitor with every pump of grease!!.. :(

To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
