In January or February of 1985, I signed the franchise agreement with CASEIH for my Boss who was in Florida for his annual winter vacation. Tennaco owned Case for a few years as they had purchased Case from other investors. Case was bought up or financed in about 1967 and then started dropping off their tillage and harvesting equipment so they really had only tractors at the time Tenaco bought IH Farm Equipment. Case had a construction equipment side of their corp which I know very little about. The New Holland deal came about with CaseIH the year I retired, Dec l, 1999. I was in a former Case dealership which was now selling New Holland and we were talking about it in 2000. Fiat was the talk of the town.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
