I owned a farm tire shop for 22 years, it really depends on the brand of tire, where it is on the tire and how much you are going to be carrying on the 3 point. Is it a radial tire? How big is yiur tractor? A section repair will probably be a better idea. Please remember, if you do have a section put in the tire, the tractor should not be used too heavy for several weeks. The repair will need to harden up some. I have seen people take a newly repaired tire to a corn, bean, or hay field and run it in the stubble. The stubble will destroy a freshly repaired section.
