I have gotten several messages asking about my recent visits. I hope it does not sound self-serving, but it feels good to know that folks think of you.
I had testing on Thursday. They took five biopsies. I have to wait a week to find out the results of those. They did find that my esophagus had narrowed to the point they had to balloon it for the scope and biopsies. They have given me some medication that is supposed to remove that swelling and help bring back an appetite. I thought yesterday that it worked pretty good, as I was in the tractor looking for something to gnaw on. Today I have had stabbing pain in my stomach all day and no hunger so it seems to go back and forth. We will know more once the biopsies come back and we know what we are up against. There were no large masses so at least we aren't in frantic panic mode.
The calves have started dropping like crazy. It's my favorite time of the year. I'm late getting hay out of the fields with all of the doctor stuff, but it looks like a window to finish hay will open in a day or so. I hope it rains tonight. I finished baling everything I had down this afternoon and seeded down the old alfalfa stand with brome grass. It would do so well with a shower. There's an 80 percent chance tonight so I'm feeling good about it.
I'll keep you posted on what the next week brings from pathology. I know it won't be the roses I am hoping for, but there's a lot of folks worse off than me. I'm hoping for the same kind of luck I've had with calves so far this year.

Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
