Same here, except I average 10-11 empty with mud tires leaving the hubs locked. Probably loaded 1/2 the time. With factory street tires it was getting 13-14 hubs unlocked.
As for riding good? maybe compared to a lumber wagon.
It will pull anything the diesel will, but you will be turning 4000+ rpms to do it, and miles per gallon turns into gallons per mile.
I would buy the same truck again as economically it makes more sense than the diesel.
