Have you had a drought recently? We had a major drought here in Southern Illinois in 2012. Our retired county agent said at the time a lot of them will suffer in five years. That it takes five years for the serious efects to show up. I didn't ask if it was fatal, or if they would survive. I ran some sucker rods in the ground and wallered them around to make a hole about 18 inches deep, around the drip line, then filled them wit 12-12-12. We'll see if it works.
