City people are just like rural people in that you get a mixed bag of them. LOL The trouble with many city people today is that they do not have accurate knowledge of how modern farms actually work. This can cause problems that they cause by mainly being misinformed.
I have 4-5 land lords that are city people. The first few years can be trying but most of them will listen if you take the time to let them know/learn the truth not the spin they get from special interest groups.
A friend of my DIL moved here 2 years ago. She is from LA. Big tree hugger lefty. LOL One day she was at my DIL mouthing off about how modern dairy farms abuse the poor cows. I asked her if she had ever been on a modern dairy farm in person???? She said no. I then asked her HOW she knew so much about them then??? I asked her if she want to LEARN something in person? She did. I took her around to several different dairy farms that she picked while we drove around. I did not want to cherry pick what she saw. I know that 98% of the dairy guys put their cows first. She had an entirely different out look on dairy farms after she had personal knowledge.
Rural people are many times demonized by special interest groups with agendas to push. We are poorly suited to get the true story out. So the city people moving out actually can be a positive thing if you can adapt to the "new" changes.
On the flip side many rural people treat all the city people as bad. When the majority are pretty smart people that usually are upper middle class or higher in incomes. So they actually help the rural community with their increased business. Traditional Farmer has pointed out several of these advantages.
Now can uninformed city or rural people be a PIA??? YES!!! LOL I find both to be about equal in that regard.

Today's Featured Article - A Question for Dads This recent topic from the Tractor Talk discussion board is being highlighted because it is an awesome display of the caliber of individuals that have made this site their own. The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
