2000 chevy 2500 p-up oxygen sensor. Everybody was right - right hand threads. Bought the special socket, it won't fit the sensor, no room to get it on or turn it if it was on. Spray CRC on; sensor really has to be hot from running the engine to come out. GM really did not mean for you to change it. Best tool is 14" long boxend wrench with 15 degree angle. Then it will (finally after much effort & cussing) come out 1/12th of a turn at a time. Put new one in & tightened it down & went to hook up the wiring. Oh no! Parts store gave me the wrong sensor, has a female end. Mine needed male end. Rolling around under the truck & didn't notice that. ALWAYS take the old part in - when will I ever learn. New sensor came out easy anyway but rust falling & mosquitoes extracted a heavy penalty. Use goggles - you can never knock off so much rust that more won't fall, always right into your eyes. Anyway the easy part is ahead of me, maybe.
