Raking hay would never have caused it to get hot enough to damage the trans with or without a cooler you had something else go wrong and cause your issue,, I will have to look over some early lit,, like 3pt remotes pto all were options I have seen and worked on hundreds of them here never seen one without a cooler,, but I know some dealers and people wanted to save every dime they could when buying new so I could see dealers order them without one, like 3pt we only sold one 30 series without it and we had to special order it in for the man, same way with 580 backhoes, every 580 we sold new from 580CK starting in 1966 through the 580C the last 580 model we sold before the dealership was sold had a dsl engine and powershuttle, and front counter weights, we had dealers from other places get a couple bids from us as they sold them a dry clutch 580 with nothing but bare bones equipment on them,, one even sold them a 580C with only ROPS when the bid clearly said a cabed unit,, I guess I find it odd they would even order one without the cooler as to me it was just something you always speced them with, we always tried to think ahead for some job they were going to use them for they had not thought of yet
