Guys I have toured the John Deere Plants at Horicon Wi and Greenville Tn.. The premium mowers are made at the Horicon plant. The D series and the older L series are made at the Greenville TN plant. I sold these mowers for years and I have friend currently building and sell them now.
To those of you that say MTD or American Lawn Products make them take a picture of where you see that on a current mower. Heck Even a mower made in the past. Even the Saber mowers where made in a JD plant. John Deere actually built some Scotts and Honda mowers for them.
MTD owns Cub Cadet, Wheel Horse, Troy bilt, Bolens , and other lessor known brands. MTD has never built a Lawn mower for JD.
MTD did make the walk behind snow blowers for JD for several years. They where built to JD specs. You could not by the same thing from any of the MTD brands/dealers.
