I have a 2N that has been in the family for 73 years so I know what they can do. The wrong manifold will do that. Orignal cracked and Dad got a TSC manifold and for years had starting problems. Found a good Ford mechanic and he saw what the problem was in that the manifold was made with to long a throt, got me the corect manifold and starting problems went away for years. Got a starting and rinning problem a few years ago and it was that voltage reduser was kicking out Bypassed it and then the problem went away. Also have a 9N and both on 6 volt. I would convert back to 6 volt the way it is supposed to be. Only reason to convert to 12 is somebody did not want to fix what was needed. Having starting problems now but the fuell shut off is not shuting off and draining tank out carb.
