Derek: I have been reading the Antique Tractor Bible, and when I read about AC back in that time they made the fastest tractors. I do believe they were refering to land speed? Why any manufacturer would want to have a tractor win a race as being the fastest over land I don't know, except it was good advertising and it did put them on the board. They had a good machine, but they had to get noticed! It must have worked because they are one of the best there is, and they made plenty of sales. I hope this answers any questions you had. Bob
