Well, life on this ball of dirt is naturally violent. Nature's animals are violent and we are animals too. People have been killing each other ever since there have been people. We started out with sticks and rocks. We just have better sticks and rocks now. The basic nature of people hasn't really changed much. Just more of us crowded in smaller spaces. Put a bunch of rats in a small space and they will eat each other. There is no "cure" to this problem. It will always be. As a society, we decide the level of violence we will allow. It is impossible to completely eradicate it. Guns don't matter. The type of guns don't matter. It is a people problem and it is a part of us all. Even the most non-violent of us will become violent under the right (or wrong ) circumstances. Our laws can only help when directed towards behavior, not towards the tool one may use. I don't care if I own an Army tank. I am not going to shoot anyone with it, unless my or my family's life is threatened. Not all people think that way though. Just my thoughts.
