IIRC you are to check the hyd. oil level right after being shut off. This will result in it being higher after it sits awhile or overnight and oil drains back to the reservoir. So maybe that's what he was talking about ? because if you check the oil first thing in the morning it will be higher than the full mark. Being overfull a little won't hurt especially if you have hills. It appears the loader is hooked up to the rear remotes ? If so I'd get a joystick valve and plumb it in more direct and free up the remotes. This will also increase the performance of the loader. The manual of the loader should show how to hook it up to various models. Hopefully you got the manuals with this purchase. If not John Deere will sell you some. They are a must have.

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
