have been buying tires from the TIreRack for years and years both online and via their south bend store (even back when they were in one of the old studebaker factories).
i would trust them the most. they used to be impossible to beat price wise but others have caught up. they will also give you recommendations for a specific tire for you particular vehicle. not just one that fits. you can go from "name brand" korean made tires or up to premium top of the line US made tires.
i've bought used tires online from bestusedtires and so far the 6 i've bought (all Goodyear Assurance comfortreds) have been good/great on my old beater cars. would buy again.
note MANY tires are not made in the US anymore. not just china, Korea, mexico, guatemala, ect ect. My daughter just put a set of General's on her car and they were made in France.
