At the time of the previous post those were the numbers that I'd planned to negotiate to. I actually ended up a bit higher on the Massey than I'd hoped but he did throw in a free hat at the last minute, so I'm good. Here's what I had quoted for the new tractors:
All the other details were a mix. But I felt I was treated well by everyone I talked to at all the dealerships. Another thing I learned about in this deal was the difference between DEF and DPF. Diesel Exhaust Fluid vs Diesel Particular Filter. I've never owned a newer diesel so I didn't have a clue, thought it was all the same. Anyway tractorsam questioned about DEF in smaller tractors so I inquired more. What the Kubota has is actually DFP, some sort of exercise the computer does to heat up the filter and burn up the diesel soot. Or something to that effect. I read some info that if it don't get a chance to do that while you are using it, it will shut you down and make it happen. I didn't really like that, all run by computer. Mahindra had the computer but no DPF. The 1635 has no computer, everything is mechanical or simple electric solenoids. No DEF or DPF so as danofarming and Larry commented I believe I avoided that maintenance problem.
