I've only been there once. Had a reunion with the in laws about an hour south of there and decided that since I'd never seen the great Lakes we should go through Duluth. The day before we left home the heat index was 117°, on the interstate between Minneapolis and Duluth the temp was still in the upper 90's. When we dropped down into Duluth the hot air mixed with the cold lake waters made such a thick fog that I've still never seen the great lakes. The town seemed nice and we stopped by the harbor to let the kids play on a park, the temp was in the low 70's at this point and with the fog blocking out the sun I sat there and shivered the whole time. I'd like to go back sometime and try it again though.
