: : There are a number that pull here in Va., but most tend not to do well. I have always thought that a Fordson Super Major would be well suited w/ the 38" rears and the torque that 220 diesel puts out. Has anyone ever seen one pull?

: : : : : Dose anyone ever pull Ford tractors in antique classes
: : : : : I have yet to see one. My neighbor used to do well pulling his Jubilee
: : : : : when it was new.

: : : : I have never seen a Ford used for pulling either, I think they are just too light to compete in the most common classes.

: : : i saw 1 in murry kentucky it was a 8n i think. it really sat down hill with those 38 inch tires. but i dont think he did very well

: An elderly gentleman from here in Western NY pulls a Fordson Major and cleans house with it in the 6500# class pulling a stone boat. Also a good friend of mine pulls a 1956 960 and is also very difficult to beat. The 8N's usually run out of power and have to high a low gear for stone boat pulling. Enjoy, Dan

But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo. ... [Read Article]
