'65 Int Cub

When I pull my small homemade drag, after about 5 minutes of pulling my engine seems to slowly "spit and sputter" and then die. It is not the size/weight of the drag. When I run the tractor alone, it runs great. Could it be something with the carb or cylinders? Please advise.
