They sure did,your farm developed and bred some of the best cattle in the breed. Those were some great times. The art of breeding cattle has gone to the wayside to science. Not saying it's all a bad thing that they can tell almost everything about an animals genetic capabilities from a hair sample of a newborn calf but it takes the skill and art out of it. Those older guys that were successful had a sharp eye and were magical at crossing animals. Today whoever can afford the top genetic females and mate with the top males it's just crossing numbers. Cattle shows are getting smaller and most all cattle are just worth commercial price regardless of pedigree or classification except in a few cases. Yes genetics are advancing in the right direction at an alarming rate I just miss the fun of the old days sometimes,guess I'm too old fashioned for my own good sometimes.
