Pete Heffering's , Hanover Hill Holstien farm was only around 8 miles away from where I dairy farmed for my first 22 years. The county's black and white show was always held at the Labour Day fair in Port Perry, and Hanover Hills Holdteins always showed there, with Pete at the lead. Hanover Hill herdsman , Ken Treveana was a top stockman , and won the Kusseldorf trophy at the dairy expo in Madison,Wisconsin. I was at the Hanover farm many times. They used to implant embryos into Grade Holstein heifers, and after they calves, Hanover Hills would sell the fresh heifers very reasonably, and a young farmer needing some milk, could go there most anytime, and buy these well grown animals, ready to take home and put into the milk line. After the dairy cows left the farm, it was sold, and now race horses are raised there. I believe Ken still works on the farm. Another famous Holstein bull, Roybrook Starlight, was bred by Roy Orminnson, of Brooklin. The once famous Roybrook farm is now part of the 407 toll highway, and is gone without a trace
