I went up to a farm this weekend to look at a Case 1150 dozer. The farm belongs to a friend's grandpa who has passed away. They are cleaning up the farm, and planning on having an auction in the spring. While there I had to take pictures of this 2 row self propelled Massey Harris corn picker. It's an engineering marvel, with all the parts and pieces it has. It's too bad the can over the exhaust rusted off long ago, I'm sure it's hopelessly ruined inside. One of the elevator chains is broken and it has a few tin pieces that have some rusty holes. It will most likely be sold as scrap along with the 4 row Massey Harris row cultivators that are laying near it. The second picture is a mounted Massey Harris corn picker, with the engine shields laying in front of it. The 333 MH this corn picker and the cultivators were mounted on is setting in a nearby barn. The old 1150 will probably be sold for scrap as well, I'm waiting to see what the family wants for it, I was told they weren't putting it in the auction. If I wasn't interested, they were gonna have it hauled away for scrap. The tracks aren't too bad, but it was parked about 25 years ago because it had an issue with steering correctly on one side, and they never got around to fixing it. But now, the crankcase is full to the top of the dipstick tube with antifreeze, so I'm guessing the liner O-rings are shot.

Today's Featured Article - A Question for Dads This recent topic from the Tractor Talk discussion board is being highlighted because it is an awesome display of the caliber of individuals that have made this site their own. The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
