A generally reliable tractor. Being that they are 40 years old or more the individual history of any tractor is perhaps the most critical with such a tractor. Something that old can look pretty just sitting there idling but can need 1000's of dollars of repairs to make it a reliable worker. 6-7 thousand dollars would be plenty for a run of the mill consignment auction unit. Find out that it came from a good home with a known maintenance schedule then you can think about paying more. Perhaps one of the most critical aspects are rear tires. 20.8 X 38 Firestone radial tires are in the 1550-1600 dollar range per tire before tube and installation charges. Will this tractor do tillage or other serious drawbar loads? A 1066 better have a good previous owner history with low hours to go past paying 11-12 thousand dollars IMO.
