: I have a narrow front end on my Farmall H and when I go down the road : the front wheels shimmie back and forth. What would cause this and : how do I fix it? Is this a big job? Not generally a big job. The worst it can be is if the vertical bolster shaft from the gearbox down to the frame has worn out its bushings. Assuming this is not the trouble, and that the wheel bearings are okay, the problem is likely either the sector gear/worm gear in the box at the front, or sometimes (if you're lucky) most of the play can be corrected by replacing the ball bearing where the steering shaft goes into the gearbox. Another source of play can be the universal joint at the mid-point of the steering shaft. Your problem may be a combination of some or all of these.
