We run quite a few of those pumps and the quick check is just as JDseller said. The housings rarely get past two sets of vanes, or one rebuild, depends on how much they are run when not pumping fuel and how dirty the tank is. When pushing the relief valve open it really loads the vanes and wears things. We had too much trouble with the two piece suction pipes and dont use them. When worn you can also keep them pumping a while longer by placing a non spring loaded foot valve in the suction pipe. If your housing is worn it is barely worth the cost and effort to replace it and install the vane kit. We buy new at that point, hopefully you just need the kit.
