Modern View sorts the threads to my liking: in order according to how "the story" plays out. I get confused by Classic view because the recent response is at top, but may be referring to a separate post tangent discussion. Modern has the posts stacking on the bottom which makes it easy to see what is the latest.
some Forums don't allow you to respond to comments but only the entire thread. It behaves more like a linear progression and people have to specify who they are talking to.
I understand both preferences.
I also like the "Profile" link in Modern View. It's an easy quick way to search for posts made by a particular person.
