I added that to one of my current discs. The smaller blade, sitting 7" out from the gangs, catches the spillover (but doesn't dig new dirt) from the front bank that the rear wouldn't otherwise catch. Helps to keep the wet dirt off your tires when running in less than optimum conditions and disc dimensions close to tractor wheel spacings....but you knew that....only took me most of my life to figure that one out. Some things just take time. Grin
On solid vs notched, I added solids on the outside fronts to make a mark I could see clearly when going over a field the second or third time. Helps stay the course.
ASC has been good to me in providing the necessary parts to modify my rolling disc equipment.
