Actually digging in and diagnosing probably takes a little more hands on inspection than you have given us here. I believe you are saying one starts hard and is getting hot and has oil pressure problems all of which can be kinda bad; the other has transmission/ rear end issues or at least oil pressure problems depending on the tranny it has?
And then once you start taking stuff apart, this or that will show wear and once you are there, which pieces do you replace now or see if they make another 10 years as they are..... the age old decisions...
