: I have the opportunity to purchase an HD10 and would like anyone's opinion on it. What is there to look out for as far as problems. I own an HD7W and am very satisfied with it. What is a reasonable price, and how much does one weigh? Thanks for any advice and info.

I saw an add in the local paper a couple weeks ago for a ranch estate auction that included an HD10W in it. I went, in order to see it and also some farm implements that I ended up buying. Before going, I searched every reference I could find to HD10 and HD10W on several boards and websites. I came to the conclusion that if it was in decent shape, it should be worth $4000-$6000. This one was running when I got to the auction, but in the process of driving it from the field to the ranch house, a track came off and there she sat. It was the last thing auctioned off and went to the opening bidder at $800. I didn't even bid against him since the rules were that we had only 24 hours to remove the items and I had no way to fix it or transport it in that time. I will kick myself for years, I am sure. Good luck on yours.

Today's Featured Article - Listening to Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. Years ago there was a TV show about a talking car. Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo. ... [Read Article]
