Do you know who or where the Amish are that buy cottonwood logs? I've been doing the logging on a tree clearing project and there are some huge cottonwoods there. They'll likely end up in the burn pile, but if I could sell them or someone could use them, I'd rather go that route. Everyone tells me, "the Amish will buy them" or "the Amish pallet factory buys cottonwood". Only problem is, everyone that tells me that either doesn't know where these Amish are, or how to get a hold of them. I know there was a group from somewhere over by you that took all of the cottonwoods from a woodlot around the corner a few years back, but the owner doesn't live around here and I don't have his contact info to ask him who the buyer was. Local sawmill is owned by my dad's relatives, and they don't buy it, and since they don't buy it, they don't know who does either. Now that I've got all the rest cut and cleared I'm gonna be moving to the chunk where these cottonwoods are at, so I'll probably start tipping them next weekend. If you don't know, it's no big deal, I just figured maybe you would know, since you know everyone in the area lol.

Today's Featured Article - A Question for Dads This recent topic from the Tractor Talk discussion board is being highlighted because it is an awesome display of the caliber of individuals that have made this site their own. The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
