I used a three wire with build in regulater and ligth bulb. I like the light bulb (idiot light). If the light is on you left the ignition on. If the light is off the alternator is charging. When light is on the light is getting power from the ignition switch and grounding through alternator. When the alternator starts charging the light has power on both sides and no ground and therefor the light goes out. The motor has to be speeded up to start charging but then will charge at a low speed.Works fine for me.
