A valve that does not have enough gap can cause that because as it warms up the clearance gets smaller so if set wrong you may have a valve that does not close all the way so that cylinder will no longer fire. Also it would be a good idea to check spark at each plug wire as soon as it does that to make sure each has a good blue/white spark that will jump a 1/4 inch gap or more
