It sounds to me like the forth gear noise is because of a chipped or missing tooth on the gear. If you didn't use forth gear it shouldn't be much of a problem. I have a super 55 with a back hoe and loader on it and I seldom need forth gear. As to the worth of the tractor it would depend on what accessorys it has on it such as P.T.O., three point lift, hydralics, power steering, type of wheels, etc. as well as overall condition: I am looking at a super 55 gas, looks good engine seems strong, new rubber. What do you think it is worth? One problem has knock in rearend/transmission in 4th gear only sounds fine in all others, how serious is this problem?
