What that means is that Kubota is making a line of gas industrial engines to market to other equipment makers. Now I haven't seen a new gas skid steer in years, nor a BLT of regulation size   . Wouldn't bet on seeing any soon. Where I think you are going to see those engines are going to be on pumps, generators and wood chippers. Just my opinion. You guys wanting an easy to work on engine this ain't it. It's a direct injection engine. No carb. And being built on a diesel platform I doubt it's going to be much cheaper to buy if at all. I know that a few guys out there can't stand the smell of diesel but if you are buying a new tractor I doubt you are going to see a gas tractor over 25HP for some time. Just not enough market demand. Think of it this way. You want a new pickup. Just a plain work truck. Go find one new on a dealers lot. Why? Cause there is no demand. Most buyers want leather heated seats and all the other bells and whistles! Why send something to a dealer or should a dealer order what they can't sell? Higher HP gas tractors are the same way. How many of you guys want one? Now how many of you would actually pony up the money to buy one? If I were looking at new I'd go diesel. I've got 2 Ford 8Ns, a Farmall 706 and M here plus in gas plus a 1206 diesel. Run the diesel a lot more than the gassers. They 706 and 1206 burn about the same number of gallons an hour. But the 1206 has a lot more power.
