I own a 1999 Ford 3930 Diesel tractor, it has the 193 ci Turbo Diesel Engine Introduce in 1999 just before New Hollands take over. The issue I have is the Tractor always starts right up without skipping a beat even on a cold cold morning, however then begins to slow down and shuts down after running for about 5 minutes in the Winter months while blowing snow. The engine surges in the Summer months however it never shut right down, will eventually pick up it's RPMs again. It has fuel and oil, it almost acts like its water in the fuel filter, however I've changed the filter out twice now and it's still doing it. After shutting down, initially the tractor won't start right away, however if you turn the ignition switch off, and let it sit for 5 minutes it will start again without bleeding the system. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be the problem? Next time it shuts down, I'm going to see if I have power coming into the shut off solenoid at the pump, with the key still on. This should I guess tell me if I might have a faulty fuel relay switch. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

If it would just start when I turn the key, then I would use it more often. In addition to a bad case of old age, most of the tractor's original electrical system was simply too unreliable to keep. The main focus of this page is to show how I upgr
