I have to admit that I did not believe that eliminating DDT would bring back the bald eagles. I was wrong about that.
If you've been on an Alaskan Cruise they always take you into Glacier Bay. Those glaciers are disappearing. However they point out that when Captain Cook saw the bay as the first European the glaciers went all the way to the Pacific Ocean. There is sound historical evidence of those glaciers retreating continuously since then. They have been receding since well before the Industrial Revolution.
I really thought that removing Freon from production would solve global warming, but they came up with a new mechanism. The ozone hole is no longer the culprit, apparently.
Obviously human activity is contributing to global warming, or global cooling, whatever the crisis.
An interesting phenomenon is the large amounts of methane released by Arctic warming, especially in Siberia. That's a cat you can't put back in the bag. How did it get there anyway? Thawed methane will never refreeze at atmospheric temperatures. And there are vast amounts being released. Probably exceeding that produced by cattle. Yeah cattle, we need to get rid of them next.
Interestingly school children have been taught for years that man made global warming is a scientific fact and that is harder to undo than removing Freon, removing cattle, and even proving the world is, in fact, somewhat round, after generations have been taught otherwise.
God forbid someone postulates that silicon crystal growth contributes to global warming. By the way, I'm slow to change, I'll pick up on climate change in a couple of decades. How hot did Gore promise it would be in 2018?
