Second oldest family owned brewery in the country, New Ulm, MN.
They made it through prohibition with soda pop, the 1970s they really slowed down and almost went under, then they re created their identity and caught on wth the micro brewery type of beers, tho they are far from a micro.
Then they invested wisely and bought up the names of a few beers that were popular and from other brewery's here in New Ulm, and havereally strengthened themselves.
They makes several full character seasonal brews, makes a nice rotation as you go through the year.
They just spend a half million dollars on referbishing the "Grain Belt" sign up in the tWin Cities, and had a ceremony last weeek relighting it. That is a popular beer up in the Cities that they bought the rights to a couple decades ago and reintroduced it.
Fort Road Helles is an attempt to get in on the 'buy local' fad and so they are trying to source ingredients right here. They spent a few years with upthe U developing a barley that grows here and has the flavor and qualities needed. They are hoping to get more local hops, as that market is growing in the area. And so forth.

No. I am just happy to have their friendship. At least the word "farmer" is in my title. But what is the attraction? How can I explain the sensation and exhilaration I feel when I turn the key and hear the engine come to life (most
